She turns and smiles at Raven and says, “The King will be on the Main<br /> Balcony. We can Go to Meet Him There.” She proceeds to lead the way,<br /> moving quickly through the maze of the palace and coming to a large open<br /> room. The sound of the waterfall comes loud from the wide open balcony<br /> through an archway near the end of the room.<br /> <br /> Raven nods and says simply, &quot;Aye, ma'am.&quot; She trails along behind<br /> Brita the whole way, looking around and considering whether there's<br /> any way to have the conversation she needs to have with her mother<br /> without it turning into an all-out row. She figures the answer is no,<br /> and furthermore that she isn't sure she'll get anywhere, long before<br /> they reach their destination.<br /> <br /> The balcony is wide, and Brita and Raven pass a man leaving the King's<br /> presence. He is richly dressed and has a pinched look to his face. He<br /> doesn't seem to be a happy man.<br /> <br /> The King is on the far end of the balcony, lying on the railing. One arm<br /> trails over the side and dangles many hundreds of feet above the lagoon<br /> below.<br /> <br /> Random neither stands nor looks up. &quot;Hello, Brita, what's up?&quot;<br /> <br /> Brita bows formally, but her words are less so. &quot;Uncle-Liege, I bring Cousin-Captain Raven to Meet You. He has been Lost Asea.&quot; She turns and waves Raven forward.<br /> <br /> Raven salutes sharply and says, &quot;Your Majesty.&quot;<br /> <br /> And if she's mentally thrown up her hands, seeing as how it's<br /> difficult to argue with people you're not supposed to argue with over<br /> something you don't actually know the truth of one way or another, and<br /> is just kind of going along with it at this point for lack of anything<br /> else sensible to do - well, it at least doesn't show in her<br /> expression.<br /> <br /> [In Progress]</div>
