Sadly, you're right; no luck with Brian. I did finally get to talk with him a bit, and we discussed the game, but he didn't seem to take the bait - given that he hasn't been online since and all! Apparently RL and an online girlfriend are eating all his time...&lt;br /&gt;

Okay, I have an idea for her cat, but it's one of those &amp;quot;I should check first&amp;quot; sort of ideas. :)&lt;br /&gt;

I'm thinking the cat is going to look like a Abyssinian most of the time, and I think its name will be Firestarter. Now, running from that... I was considering picking up at least one alternate form for it, that being a cat made out of fire. As for why it hangs out with her... well, it's a cat. Maybe she summoned it because she needed a fire creature for some reason, and it decided to stick around (because it's a cat), and so she worked with it to find an alternate form that wasn't quite so likely to burn things down around her.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Now... all that I figure is probably OK. It's this next bit that I'm not sure of.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I was thinking that it might be fun to have the cat able to shapeshift into a horse, but under very specific circumstances. I'm a big fan of conservation of mass when it comes to shapeshifting, and let's face it: cat to horse? Biiiig mass change. So what I was thinking is that he'd actually have to go back to fire form and 'eat' flames until he'd built up enough 'mass' to be able to make the transition to a horse. (So there would be two more forms: fire horse and not-on-fire horse, because riding flames would be uncomfortable.) Transitioning back would be somewhat similar: back to fire horse, and then something along the lines of a massive out-vent of heat and/or flame to get back down to cat mass.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I figure the horse thing isn't something that would be used often, simply because it's a lot of effort when there's a barn full of horses right there that don't require building a bonfire, but it would be a nice trick to have up one's sleeve... and useful if there's time to build a fire but not time (or ability) to find another horse.&lt;br /&gt;

You don't have to rehash the old, but I think we can come up with a concept that is more playable than Lady Hephastus...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Mages can come in several types.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here's a few thoughts.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Summoner: An extensiuon of Conjuration and Trump, you can contact distant places and summon beings. IN some cases, you can bind them to serve you, tell you things, or basically be like a Faust type.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Enchantress: Trump + Psy, you can Compel others to your will. A Fiona type.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Evocation: You can evoke energies (Lightnings, Winds, etc) A powerful combat mage sort.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Do any of those work for you?&lt;br /&gt;

You can do it, Conjuration would be your key power, probably you'd want some Pattern too, to use as a Power source.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Tell me why you'd want this PC though. It sounds like you'll be a great supporting character, but since the number of points needed to be able to craft items is far fewer than to have an item as part of your build, you are giving up a lot for the power to make things. How do you see that as playing out, I wonder...&lt;br /&gt;
